Dec. 26th, 2002 01:31 amSo it seems that people don't consider what Mir did to be plagiarism, and this entire discussion is turning into the uber-fun Imperius v Dolosus/LN flame war that has Imperius entirely outmanned if not outclassed and me looking at a friends page full of weepiness and angest. I'd respond to the comments to my post individually, but time and my pocketbook do not
No, people, Imperius is not entirely made up of people who are bitter about LN. The mods, for example, are not fucking bitter. They have better things to do with their lives -- like run Imperius, but no, I can't tell you how many people in it are ex-LN players: it's anonymous, remember? I can just tell you that I enjoyed LN but that I had a beef with some of the players. I'm proud of the work that I did in LN and proud of the connections I made there. Also, just to make this absolutely clear because the Imperius mods have been getting shit from people who think that they somehow condone my opinion: I did not trash on Mir with the permission of the mods. The mods knew that this was likely to happen if Imperius went public, but they were also relying upon my good judgment and the vested interest I have in Imperius to keep me from being a total fucking psychopath, and I seem to have let them down, for which I am deeply and contritely sorry.
So let's just end the nastiness, all right? I remain unconvinced on many points, and I'm furious that people would use this trash on Imperius. I'm even more angry at myself, though, for bringing this on the head of an RPG that deserves better, so I beg people reading this LJ to go and give Imperius because it deserves a-fucking-lot more. This isn't much of an apology, but I'm not very good at them, so. There. I'm sorry I've caused a ruckus; I'm sorry I didn't e-mail Mir first, and I'm sorry that I've made things difficult for everyone.
