In my head

In my head, this was hilariously funny:

Richard: Look, I brought you a linen bedsheet. You were complaining about how you missed them, so I got you something.
Alec: But you brought a bedsheet home! A bedsheet!
Richard: It's linen, isn't it? And you can sleep on it, can't you? It doesn't seem so, does it? I think half of the humor hinges on how I see Richard's habit of bringing things home from other people's garbage piles -- one wonders if that's how he brought Lexy home. But you know, if we're being strictly period, I don't think that they really would have too many other options besides linen sheets, given that the cotton gin probably hasn't been invented yet and that America doesn't really exist in SP-world.
